We're a hit!
Well, the phone's been ringing off the hook, so I guess we will have to launch the Website as it is!
It's very easy, just go to the download link on the left, select the county you are registered in, and download it!
Follow the directions (we want it to count!), get it notarized, and mail it in to the address on the front:
Recall Corzine Now!
P.O. Box 21
Glen Ridge, NJ 07028

While you are at it I would like to see someone start an iniative to vote out all legislaters with more than two terms. Those being indited for corruption are the ones who have been around for 25-30 years. After a few elections getting rid of the long timers who have done nothing but line their pockets, maybe they will finally get the message and make some changes. The power of the state's unions also needs to be curtailed.

If you are successful, then what? Who are you going to get to replace him? How do you know he/she won't end up making similar decisions? It's fairly easy to organize people to work against something, not so easy to get them to work for something. Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.

The problem with this is that it costs money to have it notarized. I am not sure how many people are willing to pay that fee to have it done.
Posted by: Dawn J | March 26, 2008 at 02:46 PM
There are plenty of people who will notarize the petition for free. I also would like to see a bill on term limits. This would reduce the corruption in this state. Maybe the trickle down effect would bring term limits to Washington also. We are so over taxed that I am looking to move out of this state away from my family. We need to corral these corrupt politicians.

Your bank will notarize any document for free. Call your local branch to verify that a notary is working the day you would like to notarize your petition.

Any way we could also start a Recall Codey campaign as well? If this does succeed, then he would be the one in charge and given his track record, he is monumentally worse than Corzine.
Posted by: Andrew | March 27, 2008 at 06:05 AM
We need to unite and act immediately. There is no time to waste. By the time Corzine is finished with New Jersey, there will be nothing left of our great state. I will be taking all of the copies that I've made of the petition to my local supermarket. The citizens of NJ need to stand firm.

the state has to cut spending by eliminating jobs, coruption and waste. I don't know why Corzine isn't doing this and unless he does he as to go

Regret to say but it does not make sense to recall our governer. I would like to make some points. He had tried to cut down the state debt that alomost none of republican or Democrat in the pasthad done to reduce much. The toll raod increase was one of the best solution but not the best one, it will not affect many businesses in the state and the toll increae does not take taxes out of the income. Alos the communters will get discounts. The veto on toll only make thing worse. Now, he is forced to find an alternatives. I believe he done very hard work to make thing right. I doubt next governor would be able to reduce debt as much! Keep in mind, compare to Germany, for instance, the gas costs is about 5 dollars a gallon if the currency is in dollar. They seem do not complaint as much as we do. In addition, New Jersey spent alot of money on transportaion like NJ Transit, our state also own the track and operate the train all the way to Port Jervis, NY from NJ and to the Penn Station in NYC! So, where the money come from! NY does not cover this part, we do! So I do not support the recall and show support for our governer Corzine to find the best solution. Corzine is also a business man and he knows what to do about the financial crisis. The recall of governer will not solve the problem but to seek the best solution and he needs our support. Thank you very much for reconsider the best solution possible.

I can't believe that people are willing to pay thousands of dollars for taxes but stupid enough to question a few dollars which may change their taxes amount.

NOTE TO WEB OWNER: it's important not to allow people to side-track this subject with vague warnings about who could do a "better" job in the future. This is typical political diversionary tactics - if they can't change your mind, they change the subject.
The issue isn't who will do better, but how BAD a job Gov. Corzine is doing NOW. Doubling the tolls was an ill-advised idea - how about down-sizing the state bureaucracy?
Cutting all funding to small towns? WHEN was a big impersonal government more efficient than a small, local one?
The governor won't be happy until New Jersey is one big town - TRENTON.
Please, Corzine-boosters, we can't expect you to agree, but spare us your facile arguments.

How about doing away with dual official positions resulting in double pensions.
One person per office. I completely agree with term limits as well.
Won't that reduce the pensions significantly?
These people we elect do nothing and get lots of money for it.

You people need help! How ridiculous.... all I hear are people bitching about his ways of fixing the state's problems. Instead of the continuous infighting and BS why don't you Independants aka majority of Republicans provide ideas, ways and what you all think are best. Trying to fix the mess isn't easy no matter what your political affiliations/party. As the man in charge what would you cut and what would you raise as you know full well to fix it will require both events to occur and will piss people off no matter what choices are made. It needs to be fixed. Look at what Bush has done to this county. He ruined this country on so many levels and will be one of our worst presidents in history as he to didn't fix he only helped the wealthy get wealthier...

It is about time we the residents of NJ take some action instead of just complaining. In order to change government, everyone has to vote because it matters!!!!!! let's stop electing the same corrupt politicians. this is a step towards showing that we will not take it anymore!!! CUT SPENDING AND THE SIZE OF GOVERNMENT, TEACHER UNIONS, ETC instead of raping us from our hard-earned money. my hat's off to the creators of this website. my petition is printed, will be signed, notarized and mailed. and extra copies will be handed out to whomever will take one and I am a notary and will notarize anyones petition for free!!!!!!

Interesting how my comments are NOT mine. What I wrote earlier does NOT have my name attached. My name is attached to comments I DID NOT write nor do I agree with. MY COMMENTs that I wrote are now labeled with someone named Pearl D. I DO NOT agree with this petition, it is silly and a waste of time and money when all of you detractors should be thinking what can be done since you don't like some of the preposals to fix this mess we are in. Rep or Dem get a grip and write in your ideas on how to fix things, alternatives to the things you disagree with that he has proposed. They have a link on the NJ Gov site to offer your ideas!

Solutions? I think I may have some ideas about how to fix broken government. Please check out democraseed.org to find out about the Proxy Revolution, which could
function at the federal, state, and possibly even the local level.

What is more wild than this petition is the craziness of our polititions. Lie,lie and lie somemore with a straight face. Corzine touted lower property taxes when running for office. When in power he RAISED our state sales tax. Its sickening. To restore trust Corzine could slash funding of numerous fat ladden programs. He'll never do it!! He lied, get rid of him.

I heard about this site through NJ 101.5 thanks to Jim Gearhart. I think that he has some valid points. If this initiative is to succeed, maybe it will be a wake-up call to all NJ corrupted politicians, aka the blob and the turds of Trenton, to stop messing around and stop the tax and spend, business as usual, politics. This state needs to be cleaned up and the size of government decreased, and if this measure, deemed almost impossible by the state's Democratic coalition, doesn't succeed, we may experience some more problems, or perhaps bankruptcy, down the road.

We need some one in office that will attack the problems that affect the residents of New Jersey, and not attack the residents of this state. Thats what they have been doing for years. Lets get this guy out of here!!!
Posted by: Bud | March 27, 2008 at 03:01 PM
im sorry but all Corzine done is raised taxes... i don't see how anyone can be aloud to cut funding to schools. thanks Corzine now my student loans will be even higher but i guess when your a billionaire things like a price on education don't matter.

If all else fails, if nothing more becomes of this, and if for nothing else, this petition will perhaps, bring a wakeup call to the Politicians of this state, that they had better work for the betterment of the people and not for their own political gains or they’re out of here. They were put in office to serve US, not the special interest groups that may have contributed to their campaigns. Bottom line is, a promise is a promise, and if you can’t keep that promise, don’t make it. We are sick and tired of all the lies and promises that are made during election time, but once in office, all bets are off.

You don't have to pay to get this notarized if you take it to your bank. Let's not be lazy and make this happen! You're a Great American as said by my hero Sean Hannity! This is a great way to finally exercise the people's rights!
