We've been at this a month, and it is every bit as challenging as we thought it would be. The problem is not with support, the general public has been very supportive (this is not shocking given what a bad job Governor Corzine has done, and that his approval rate is hovering at 35%).
The difficult part is getting the word out. Most folks just don’t pay a lot of attention to what goes on in NJ Politics (that’s how we got in this mess in the first place), and have no idea what a recall is, or that there is a campaign under way.
That’s not to say we haven’t made an impact, since we launched our campaign, the Governor has backed-off on most of his really outrageous proposals. The problem is, that success is only temporary, and if we let up on him, he’ll be back with more crazy proposals.
So help us keep the pressure on him. Tell everyone you know that there actually is something that they can do to get the message to the Governor that we want real reform in Trenton, not attacks on our towns and our parks. Tell them to come to www.RecallCorzineNow.com and download the petition.

Can we get more publicity thru 101.5 and/or the major papers, Newark Star Ledger, Asbury Park Press, Trenton papers, etc.? I haven't seen or heard anything on the recall effort for a month.

Bob,
We're working on that, but money talks, and it's hard to get free publicity for long.
You can help by calling up and reminding the hosts, and the listeners, and writing letters asking for more coverage.
At this point, we'll probably have to pay to get any serious additional coverage, so we need folks to keep sending in the contributions.

Corzine is the first governor that has been honest with the people and said the budget is a mess and we need to do something about it. His opponents don't have any specific plans other than "cut waste" and "fight corruption". Simplistic pandering that appeals to NJ 101.5 types. If you're plan is successful and the governor is recalled, will his successor be as forthright in trying to solve this budget mess? I doubt it because the simplistic approach works with most voters--which is how we got here.

NJ,
Honest in what way?
Honest when he said if the Special Session was a failure (it was - big shock), he would call for a Constitutional Convention to reform property taxes and then "Changed his mind")?
Honest when he says that small towns are "less efficient", even though the State's own numbers show that to be a lie?
Honest when he broke virtually every one of his campaign promises?
The only time I've heard Jon Corzine speak the truth in his 2+ years as governor was when he lavished praise on his personal mouthpiece - Javier "The Envelope" Inclán - hours after Inclán admitted under oath to being the bagman for David Delle Donna.

NJ,
In addition to what Carl has stated, the governor also said (in his inauguration speech) that he would end the 'toxic mix' of corruption, patronage, etc. So far, nada.
He reappointed Jeanne Fox (of BPU fame) to her position, in spite of the fact that she created a $83 million account outside of the purview of the BPU (and without approval of the same group).
The governor has also decided to invest $94 million in a stem cell research facility that will create exactly 12 jobs, in spite of the fact that the voters of NJ ovewhelmingly voted 'No' to this back in November. He is investing ins something regardless of how his constiuents feel.
Should we discuss the $8+ billion wasted by the School Construction Corporation?
How about NJ leading the nation in property taxes?
Creating a tax on the water we drink and a tax on the bottle in comes in?
All of this and the governor things that throwing more of our money at the problem will resolve it.
I don't know about you but I think that Trenton needs to get there house in order before they even think about getting more of my money.
Need I say more?
